In 1989, a group of community leaders foresaw the quality community Canton Township would become in western Wayne County. An important part of that vision included the creation of a 501(c)3 nonprofit community organization to support the charitable, cultural, educational, recreational, and scientific needs of the community. Thus, the Canton Community Foundation was founded.
The Foundation helps donors make a positive, long-lasting impact on the community through philanthropic giving. Bringing people together with this highly personal approach to giving ensure future generations a vibrant healthy Canton, and becomes a permanent part of a lasting endowment.
The Foundation is a publicly supported philanthropic institution governed by a board of private citizens chosen to represent the public interest, and for their knowledge of the community. By serving donors, the nonprofit sector, and the community as a whole, the Foundation is able to impact Canton in any area where the is a need and a desire.
